CCYAL continues “We’d Rather Read YA” virtual book club for Spring 2021

The Center for Children’s and Young Adult Literature (CCYAL)’s spring 2021 schedule for their regular “We’d Rather Read YA” book club is set and they have three authors joining them this semester!

This book club is sponsored by the Center for Children’s and Young Adult Literature (CCYAL) at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville

All sessions are via virtual and free and open to the public of all ages.

February 

February’s feature is “A Song Below Water” with the author Bethany C. Morrow. The club will meet on Sunday, February 28th from 4 – 5:30 p.m. (EST). Caitlin Metheny and Heather Matthews, Theory and Practice in Teacher Education (TPTE) literacy graduate students, will facilitate the conversation.

March

March’s feature is “The Marrow Thieves” by Cherie Dimaline. Susan Groenke, professor of English education and Director of the CCYAL, will facilitate the conversation. The club will meet on Sunday, March 28th from 4 – 5:30 p.m. (EST).

April’s feature is “Love is a Revolution” by Renée Watson. Arianna Banack and Cammie Lawton, TPTE literacy graduate students, will facilitate the conversation. The club will meet on Sunday, April 25th from 4 – 5:30 p.m. (EST).
