Current TPTE doctoral student in Literacy, Amber Rountree, has contributed to the creation of a useful resource for educators just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday. Decolonizing Thanksgiving: A Toolkit for Combatting Racism in Schools, published on November 11, 2018 in Medium by Lindsey Passenger Wieck, provides ideas and techniques on how to assist teachers, parents and students in critically thinking about the issues of racial representations and stereotypes of Native peoples and the romanticized myths surrounding Thanksgiving.
