On November 16, the University of Tennessee’s Art Education Program held an opening reception for their Annual Art Education Intern Juried Art Exhibition at Ironwood Studios (119 Jennings Ave, Knoxville, TN 37917). This exhibit represented the culmination of their work in the course ARED 530: Production and Critical Pedagogy in Art. This course allowed students to explore critical concepts, such as visual culture, through art, and to continue their development as artist-teachers throughout their internship year. The exhibit will move to the University of Tennessee’s Cookie Aytes Elliott Gallery in the Jane and David Bailey Education Complex where it will be on display and open to the public Tuesday-Friday 9:00-4:00 pm throughout the month of December.
