The World Languages Minor at the University of Tennessee prepares candidates to teach Classics (Latin), French, German, and/or Spanish in grades PreK-12.
Path to Teaching Certification through the Professional Year Internship
Candidates earn a B.A. in Classics (Latin), French, German or Spanish, complete at least one study abroad semester (modern languages only), meet upper-division language requirements, and complete a minor in World Language Education. Then they complete the Professional Year – graduate coursework and a yearlong internship that leads to a master’s degree (Master of Science, World Language Professional Internship Concentration).
