Assistant Professor, Special Education
Yujeong Park is an assistant professor of special education. She received her PhD in special education with a minor in research and evaluation methodology at the University of Florida and her master’s degree in exceptional children, with a learning disabilities concentration, from Seoul National University in South Korea. Her scholarly interests center on evaluating the effectiveness of reading interventions and strategies for students with specific learning disabilities, and developing a reliable and valid assessment tool/system in reading for K–6 students with learning difficulties as well as English Learners. Additionally, her research emphasizes developing and validating measures for assessing the quality of special education teachers providing literacy instruction to students with specific learning disabilities and other high-incidence disabilities.
Park has published articles in several peer-reviewed journals, including Remedial and Special Education, Annals of Dyslexia, Journal of Educational Research, Research in Developmental Disabilities, Exceptionality, Journal of Early Childhood Research, Learning Disabilities Quarterly, Teaching Exceptional Children, etc. She also has published chapters in the Handbook of Special Education Teacher Preparation and Handbook of Research in Teaching.
