Clinical Assistant Professor, Literacy Studies
Natalia Ward is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Theory and Practice in Teacher Education. She received a PhD degree in Literacy Studies from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Her dissertation, titled The Use of ELL Specific Assessment Accommodations: A Comparative Case Study of Classroom Practices, focused on enhancing our understanding of how classroom and English as a Second Language teachers support emergent bilinguals in their acquisition of literacy. Her research interests include equitable education and assessment for multilingual learners, literacy and biliteracy, and education policy enactment in local contexts.
