Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Education

Teacher Education Concentration, English Education Specialization

Cognate fields are defined as a minimum of 6 semester hours of graduate coursework in a given area outside the student’s major field. Three years prior teaching experience is required for admission to any PhD program of study. Students will plan, in concert with the advisor and committee, a program of studies suitable to their educational desires and needs for completion of the Doctor of Philosophy degree.

Admission Procedures

The residency requirement for students in the PhD program with a major in education is two consecutive semesters of full-time enrollment.
