Broemmel, Jordan, and Vines publish article (twice!) on reenvisioning spelling instruction

Congratulations to Theory and Practice in Teacher Education (TPTE) literacy faculty, Amy Broemmel, Jennifer Jordan, and Nora Vines on the double publication of their article, “Reenvisioning Spelling Instruction: Developmental Word Study Nonnegotiables”.

The article is included in the latest volume of The Reading Teacher, an influential practitioner journal from the International Literacy Association that focuses on best practices for literacy educators working with children up to age 12.

Right now, the article is available for members of the International Literacy Association and through UTK Library.

The article was also selected to be featured in the highly respected, selective and widely-distributed Marshall Memo, a subscription based service providing educators weekly articles intended to improve teaching, leadership and learning. To be selected for the Marshall Memo is a great honor in the teaching education field.

Professors Broemmel, Jordan, and Vines, along with Zoi Traga-Philippakos and Stergios Botzakis are members of TPTE’s literacy expert team, featured every week in the department’s successful online “Lit Chats” and “Thirty-Minute Thursdays”, which are free and open to the public.
