Assistant Professor, Special Education
Yujeong Park is an assistant professor of special education. She received her PhD in special education with a minor in research and evaluation methodology at the University of Florida and her master’s degree in exceptional children, with a learning disabilities concentration, from Seoul National University in South Korea. Her scholarly interests center on evaluating the effectiveness of reading interventions and strategies for students with learning disabilities, and developing a reliable and valid assessment too/system in reading for K–6 students with specific learning disabilities as well as English Language Learners. Additionally, her research emphasizes developing and validating measures for assessing the quality of special education teachers providing literacy instruction to students with specific learning disabilities and other high-incidence disabilities.
Park has published articles in Exceptionality, Journal of Early Childhood Research, Learning Disabilities Quarterly, Teaching Exceptional Children, Preventing School Failure, Journal of International Special Needs Education, Journal of Special Education and Rehabilitation Science. She has published chapters in the Handbook of Special Education Teacher Preparation.
